The tunnel links the paths between Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. Its southern entrance is in Refaim Park, below Ein Laban while the northern entrance is in Nahal Ein Kerem, about half a kilometer close to the Kerem junction.

The 2.1-kilometers-long tunnel was officially opened during a celebration on Thursday , attended by Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Ze'evElkin, Mayor Moshe Lion, Gihon water company chairman Avi Baleshnikov as well as hundreds of cyclists.

Elkin's Ministry Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and Gihon Corporation contributed approximately NIS 25 million to the project. The work was carried out by the Jerusalem Development Authority.
